Smithfield - Mr. Maurice Bodrick, 63, passed away peacefully on May 25,2025 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, North Carolina. Maurice was born on March 17, 1962. He was a remarkable individual who touched the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to know him. He was not just a friend, a brother, or a father; he was a guiding light in our lives, a source of strength and inspiration. Maurice dedicated 25 years of his life to WakeMed, where he not only worked but also retired, leaving a lasting impact on his colleagues and the community. He was a proud father to three sons: Tacarrus, Tyrese, Maurice Jr. and one daughter Jenessa. He cherished his role as a grandfather to two beloved grandchildren. His family was his pride and joy, and he devoted himself to nurturing and supporting them through every stage of life. From his warm smile to his infectious laughter, Maurice had an extraordinary ability to make those around him feel valued and loved. He truly listened and offered wisdom that came from the depths of his caring soul. Whether it was a small problem or a significant life challenge, Maurice was always there, ready to lend a helping hand or an understanding ear. In addition to his children and grandchildren, he leaves behind his loving mother, Helen Bodrick; his sister, Angie and his brothers: Raymond and Wayne. Maurice also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will carry his memory in their hearts. As we reflect on Maurice’s life, let us remember the lessons he imparted and the memories we created together. Though he may no longer be with us in body, his spirit will forever remain in our hearts. We will carry forward his legacy of love, laughter, and compassion. We cannot, Lord, thy purpose see but all is well that’s done by thee. As we celebrate the life of our beloved Maurice, the family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to everyone who has provided support during this difficult time. Your kindness, love, and compassion have been a source of comfort, and we are deeply grateful for each and every one of you. At Maurice's request, there will be a private gathering for the family.
