Mrs. Linda Marie Wolfe

Goldsboro- Mrs. Linda Marie Gardner Wolfe,82. Linda Marie Gardner Wolfe left her earthly body on Feb 28, 2024 to be with God and her loved ones who entered Heaven before her. Linda married Bruce Wolfe in 1963 and gave birth to two children, Bethanne and Craig. Lovingly called “Ammie” she was blessed to have 5 grandchildren - Anthony, Justin, Ryan, Mia and Monica, 3 granddaughters-in-love (Alexxis, Amanda, and Alexis) and 4 great grandchildren. Linda grew up near Boston, Massachusetts, graduated from U Mass Amherst, and became a teacher and an Air Force wife. Much more than that, Linda poured her heart and soul into whatever came her way. She was an out-of-the-box, outspoken, charismatic advocate and leader. She was fearless in her endeavors and it showed in all she did. She loved books and music, often together. As an only child she escaped into books and was the fastest reader known to man. Her love for music was evident throughout her life and it was rare for a day to go by without music playing in the background. Linda’s greatest accomplishments were in the form of human connection, and her porch was always open to those who needed comfort, solace, advice, great conversation, a good cry, big laughs, and/or a nice glass of red wine. Linda was a great cook, entertainer, and planner who was always ready with a big hug. She loved a good road trip and her precious ocean, where she ventured often to write, reflect, walk, and recharge her batteries. Her favorite place on earth was Hawaii because it spoke to her soul and the essence of who she was and what she believed in; things she couldn’t even express with words - and she did not lack for words - she knew them all and did not mince them. Ever. Always the teacher, she continues to educate even now. It is what she has always wanted, wrapped in a package that nobody asks for. She lived a full, beautiful life, never knowing a stranger and always willing to lend an ear or share her wisdom. Linda volunteered for hospice and believed wholeheartedly in their beautiful mission. She reaped the rewards of this when she and her family received much-needed support from hospice to keep her in her own home. She entertained ALL of her caregivers with her singing, humming, feisty sense of humor and “colorful”language, making them laugh every day, and oh how she loved her nurse, Adam! Linda’s family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice of Goldsboro, faithful caregivers Denise and Loveta, housekeeper Sara, extended family and friends, and her amazingly beautiful online Facebook Community for being part of our village. A celebration of life (come casual) will be held at the family home (228 S Spence Ave, Goldsboro, NC) on March 23rd from 1:00-3:00. In Linda’s honor and in lieu of flowers (although we love them) please extend a kindness to someone in need. She would love that.
